Local users of the ATM claim it's not the first time the machine has been stolen.

The front-loader was stolen from a work site on the corner of Plymouth and Weaver about a mile away from the ATM.

Police expect that neighbors heard the incident and hope that someone will come forward with information.

Detroit's sixth precinct confirms that they got the call at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday about the missing machine.

Police speculate the thief or thieves stole the giant shovel and lifted the money machine off its foundation, loading it onto another type of vehicle and taking it away.

The front-loader was left at the scene.

The ATM was filled with an undisclosed amount of money, but police claim the machines are difficult to break into.

Comerica representatives had no comment as to whether the machine would be replaced.
