UPDATED: 8:16 p.m. EST February 17, 2003

A local intersection was blocked off after a squad car collided with another vehicle Monday afternoon.

The police car reportedly collided with a white four-door Volkswagen at the intersection of Rotunda Drive and Military Street in Dearborn.

Police say the officer was responding to a stolen car scene when the accident occurred.

The officer received minor injuries in the incident, but was not taken to the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a local hospital to be treated.

Police say that the snowy weather conditions may have caused the collision.

Police blocked off the intersection as crews worked to clear the scene.
