DETROIT, Updated 6:23 p.m. EDT July 8, 2000-- It could be in your neighborhood and you wouldn't even know it. But what's going on in your own backyard might shock you.
Local public golf courses in Romulus, Oakland Township and Oxford, just a stone's throw from family homes and neighborhood children, are the subject of controversy. News4 caught scenes of women taking off their clothes, stripping in public.
During the month of June, Local First Investigators found dozens of men willing to pay $150 each for a chance to play 18-holes with caddies in bikinis.
But Local First Investigators found that there was more going on; hidden cameras exposed the women exposing themselves.
Local First went inside golf outings around metro Detroit in an investigative series that started Thursday on WDIV's News at 11.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard saw the story and said that he was on the phone ordering a full investigation into incidents that occurred in his jurisdiction before the newscast ended.
Other public officials and scores of viewers were similarly alarmed by the report. The final part in the series airs Sunday.
