HAMTRAMCK, Mich., Updated 9:54 a.m. EDT July 29, 2000-- A store owner at the Nice Jewelry Store in Hamtramck was shot just before 5 p.m. Friday.
Witnesses heard three to four shots near the jewelry store, which is on Joseph Campau in Hamtramck. A store owner from across the street tells News4 that he saw an exchange of gunfire, someone shooting into the store and someone shooting out.
The owner of the Nice Jewelry Store, a man in his 50s, was taken to an area hospital. He's in serious condition at Detroit Receiving Hospital.
The suspect left in an awaiting car.
Police have not arrested any suspects in the case.
