$2,000 Reward Offered For Carjacking Case

Sketches Of Suspect Released

A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a carjacking suspect in two recent incidents in Ferndale. The suspect has allegedly approached the motorists, implied that he had a weapon and forced his way into their vehicles. Both women were teenagers and were alone at the time of the alleged attacks. Video Police Worry Suspect Will Strike Again Each woman was able to give police a description of her attacker, and police said that the drawings were of the same man. The sketches were released Tuesday. In each case, the victims said that the man has driven them around and demanded money before being released. Robin Hawk, 17, is one of the victims. Hawk told Local 4 Tuesday that she was frightened by her ordeal, and also angry. "I screamed, tried to get out. He put me in a headlock," Hawk said. "I was scared at first." Hawk was carjacked in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Warren and driven around before being forced out of her vehicle at Eight Mile and Interstate 75 near Ferndale. Ferndale police said that an 18-year-old woman was recently carjacked in the city. The woman was approached outside a party store on Nine Mile Road and forced to drive around with her attacker while he demanded money, before being dropped off a short time later. Anyone with information should call (800) 242-HEAT, a confidential tip line offered by Help Eliminate Auto Thefts. Or call the Ferndale Police Department at (248) 541-3650. Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
