Based in Battle Creek, Mich., WKKF is proud to support the summit in its home state, and help engage communities on important education issues affecting vulnerable children and families. In Michigan, WKKF invests in its priority places of Battle Creek, Detroit and Grand Rapids, as well as in organizations throughout the state.
The grantmaking foundation is working closely with NBC News and its local news affiliate, WDIV Local 4, to provide a platform to share some of the education challenges faced by vulnerable children and families, spotlight community-led education efforts underway and showcase promising approaches and programs. Education Nation Detroit will include in-depth panel discussions and interviews on the importance of early childhood education, school choice and workforce development, as well as interactive teacher and student town halls.
