Morning TV wars through the years

Dueling co-hosts Katie Couric and Sarah Palin are the latest shots fired in a long-running war to dominate the morning show TV market.

Couric began her 15-year "Today" stint in 1991 with Gumbel and his replacement, Matt Lauer, who came on in 1997. The broadcast expanded to three hours in 2000.
