Diaz, Timberlake Call It Quits

Couple Dated Since 2003

LOS ANGELES -- Singer Justin Timberlake and actress Cameron Diaz have broken off their relationship.

"We have, in fact, ended our romantic relationship, and have done so mutually and as friends, with continued love and respect for one another," the couple said in a statement Thursday.

The couple have been dating since 2003.

They said they usually prefer not to comment on the status of their relationship, but they felt the need to do so now because of recent media speculation and inaccurate stories.

The former N'SYNC singer was spoofed in a sight gag as a boyhood crush of Diaz's Princess Fiona in "Shrek 2," and voices a role along with Diaz in "Shrek the Third." He also stars in the crime drama "Alpha Dog," opening in theaters Friday.

Diaz has starred in such hits as "The Mask," "My Best Friend's Wedding" and "There's Something About Mary," and most recently appeared in the romantic comedy "The Holiday" opposite Jude Law.
