Arts, Beats And Eats Is Festival Fun

Plenty To Do Over Labor Day Weekend

Chrysler Arts, Beats & Eats takes place in downtown Pontiac on Labor Day Weekend with almost 150 musical acts on the line up.

This year the festival will again take place over Labor Day Weekend, Friday, Sept. 3 to Monday, Sept. 6.

New wave act the B-52's will perform Friday, The Verve Pipe will be featured Saturday, The Whispers are Sunday and a one-two punch for country music fans features Marty Stuart and Diamond Rio on Monday. In addition, rock group Sponge, country band Diamond Rio and Paul Rodgers of Bad Company will perform.

Chrysler Arts, Beats & Eats was founded in 1998 and debuted to 400,000 patrons over its inaugural Labor Day Weekend. Attracted by a diverse celebration of art, music, food and family fun, crowds grew in 1999 by 50 percent to 600,000 people.

The 2004 festival will feature hundreds of art exhibitors from across the country, 50 restaurant booths from Oakland County and beyond, and numerous activities for the kids.
