White Stripes Member Allegedly Punches Singer Multiple Times
POSTED: Tuesday, December 16,
It was a battle of bands, but it didn't take place on stage.

Jack White (pictured, left) of the rock duo The White Stripes may be facing assault charges for punching the member of another band Saturday night at a downtown Detroit nightclub.
White allegedly hit Jason Stollsteimer of the Detroit band the Von Bondies seven times, according to a police report filed by Stollsteimer.
Stollsteimer, 25, claimed White became "enraged and without warning pulled him to the floor and proceeded to punch him on (the) right eye approximately seven times, then fled to the rear (of the club) on foot."
White, 28, has filed a counter-complaint. White claims he was having a discussion with Stollsteimer when he was pulled to the floor. Stollsteimer began "hitting him about the face and body with his fist." White stated that in defense, he hit back with his fists.
Detroit police continue to investigate the incident.
White has been romantically linked to Renee Zellweger. He contributed five music tracks to the new film "Cold Mountain" and makes an appearance in the movie, which stars Zellweger and Nicole Kidman.
