White Stripes singer Jack White appeared for his arraignment at the 36th District Court in downtown Detroit Wednesday.
The Detroit-based musician was charged with aggravated assault for his involvement in a fight during a concert at the Magic Stick on Woodward Avenue on Dec. 13, Local 4 reported.
Police said White (pictured, left), 28, approached Jason Stollsteimer, a member of the Detroit band the Von Bondies, and punched him in the face seven times, according to a police report filed by Stollsteimer.
White and Stollsteimer (pictured, below) were reportedly watching another band perform at the bar.
Stollsteimer, 25, told police that White became "enraged and without warning pulled him to the floor and proceeded to punch him on (the) right eye approximately seven times, then fled to the rear (of the club) on foot."
Onlookers reportedly pulled White off Stollsteimer.
"The altercation was definitely unprovoked on that day. The evidence and the testimony we've received from witnesses shows that there actually was some sort of history between these two," said Marcus Connor, prosecuting attorney.

Local 4 learned that the men had an altercation last year when White attacked Stollsteimer in an apartment.
"Well, there's two sides to every story. You've heard one side, or the public's heard one side, (but) they're going to hear another side as well," said White's attorney, Wally Piszczatwoski.
White claims his actions during the fight at the Magic Stick were self-defense. He apparently filed a counter-complaint against Stollsteimer. White said he was having a discussion with Stollsteimer when he was pulled to the floor. Stollsteimer began "hitting him about the face and body with his fist." White stated that in defense, he hit back with his fists.
White will face trial on the misdemeanor charge in March.
If convicted, he could face up to one year in prison.
The White Stripes singer has been romantically linked to actress Renee Zellweger. He contributed five music tracks to the Golden Globe-nominated film "Cold Mountain" and makes an appearance in the movie, which stars Zellweger and Nicole Kidman.
