Meg Murphy of Berkley has won the first "Gimme The Mike! Detroit" Wildcard vote.
Viewers gave Murphy 46 percent of the vote. Country singer Ricky Smith came in second with 32 percent of the vote.
The other statistics:
Elizabeth Girard of Clinton Township received 17 percent of the vote.
Reginald Rose of Detroit received 4 percent of the vote.
Jerome Brown of Detroit received 1 percent of the vote.

Murphy attends Oakland University and credits her mother and grandmother who are truly her inspiration.
"I would really like to be a pop singer, although I would also like to be able to teach music. I really enjoy kids. I sing a lot at home and sometimes you'll catch me singing at work. They tease me a little bit about being the singing hairdresser. I'm debating between two degrees, either music education, or possibly business, so that business can help me with my, well, singing."
Murphy will join future Wildcard winners for another Viewers' Choice vote in April. The Wildcard winner will get to compete in the grand finale.
Judges' Choice Winner
Denise Stubbs of Redford was the Judges' Choice for the first episode of "Gimme The Mike! Detroit."
Denise started singing at her church, where she landed her first solo at age 14. She's currently with the local band, Intrigue and has performed the National Anthem at a Red Wings game.
"Singing is my life. I feel that's all I do right. I feel comfortable on stage. Wherever I am I'm singing. At other jobs I'm singing there. I had my first solo at age 14. It was an Easter program at church, and I remember I was just shaking and shaking. I knew that's what I wanted to do for the rest of my life because it was just so rewarding. It's like a natural high you know."
What is "Gimme The Mike! Detroit"? It's a six-week series on Local 4. Each week, six contestants will perform before an audience and a panel of judges. In the live finale, the five winners chosen by the judges each week will perform, in addition to one wildcard contestant picked by WDIV viewers online at ClickonDetroit.com. Only one will be named champion and walk away with the grand prize, a Pontiac Vibe and the chance to be metro Detroit's "Gimme The Mike" superstar!
"All 30 of these singers have great talent and their own special kind of charisma. The show is going to be hot and it's anyone's game," said "Gimme The Mike! Detroit" producer Jamie Kaye Walters.
After each episode, viewers will be able to vote on ClickonDetroit.com for a wildcard contestant among talented singers who were not selected by the judges. Then viewers select who they would like to move on to the wildcard bracket. Viewers will vote for their favorite contestant after each show, and the winner will be announced on Local First News at 11 p.m. with Carmen Harlan and Devin Scillian.
