Roughly six months after canceling it, AMC is bringing back its rainy mystery, "The Killing."

The network announced a deal with Fox Television Studios on Tuesday that allows the drama to return to AMC with a third season and a new case.

Actors Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman will return, as well as Veena Sud, who'll again serve as executive producer, writer and showrunner.

Now that the (seemingly endless) Rosie Larsen case has been put to rest, "The Killing" will shift its focus to new crimes.

According to a statement from AMC, the third season will pick up "a year after closing the Rosie Larsen case," with Enos' Sarah Linden no longer a detective. "But when her ex-partner Stephen Holder's search for a runaway girl leads him to discover a gruesome string of murders that connects to a previous murder investigation by Linden, she is drawn back into the life she thought she'd left behind."

"I couldn't be happier to know that I will be returning to work with AMC, FTVS and Mireille and Joel on what is and has always been a passion project for me," Sud said in a statement. "To the fans that have supported the series, thank you for doing so. My team and I will work hard to deliver the best story that we can for season three."

Production on "The Killing" will begin in Vancouver on February 25.
