The real Slim Shady is celebrating a birthday.
Detroit's Eminem has turned 40.
Born Marshall Mathers on Oct. 17, 1972, in Missouri, the future rapper, producer, songwriter and actor moved to Detroit with his single mother during his teenage years. He has since been named the "King of Hip Hop" by Rolling Stone magazine, won 13 Grammy awards and founded his own record label - Shady Records.
He also won an Oscar for Best Song for "Lose Yourself" from the 2002movie "8 Mile."
His "Imported From Detroit" Chrysler 200 Super Bowl commercial went viral.
