A jogger who suffered a heart attack while running in a London park is crediting Dustin Hoffman with helping to save his life.

On Tuesday, Sam Dempster told The Associated Press that the actor waited with him after he collapsed on April 27 until paramedics arrived.

On his recovery blog, 27-year-old Dempster thanked medical staff and "my newfound favorite celebrity Dustin Hoffman."

Martin Macarthur, one of the paramedics on the scene, said the 74-year-old actor told them "Great job, guys" after they revived Dempster using a defibrillator, according to The Sun.

"Dustin was fascinated. He seemed impressed we'd got this guy back so quickly," Macarthur told the newspaper.

Representatives for Hoffman, who has a home in London, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
