Funeral Monday for Miracles founder Bobby Rogers

A funeral is being held for Bobby Rogers, a founding member of Motown group the Miracles and a songwriting collaborator with Smokey Robinson.

"Another soldier in my life has fallen," Robinson said in a statement to CNN. "Bobby Rogers was my brother and a really good friend. He and I were born on the exact same day in the same hospital in Detroit. I am really going to miss him. I loved him very much."

Rogers died March 3 at his home in the Detroit suburb of Southfield. He was 73.

The service is at 11 a.m. Monday at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit. James H. Cole Home for Funerals says burial is at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit.

Rogers formed the Miracles in 1956 with cousin Claudette Rogers, Pete Moore, Ronnie White and Robinson. Their hits included "Shop Around," ''You've Really Got a Hold on Me," ''The Tracks of My Tears," ''Going to a Go-Go," ''I Second That Emotion" and "The Tears of a Clown."

When the group disbanded in the late 1970s, Rogers started an interior design business. The Miracles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
