Drake vs. Meek Mill: where do we go from here?

And why do we care?

DETROIT – This entire thing has been extremely entertaining. Meek Mill and Drake are beefing. In 2015 that means - angry tweets and Instagram posts taking shots at one another, and a few diss tracks sprinkled in. Plus, an audience of millions on social media watching your every move.

In case you've been sleeping under a ginormous rock, here's a little recap for you:

Recommended Videos

  • Meek Mill goes on Twitter rant calling Drake a fake, saying he has a ghostwriter.

  • Drake releases two records taking shots at Meek Mill, the first -- " Charged Up" -- and the second -- " Back to Back ." The second Drake song was proclaimed a huge victory for Drizzy.

  • Meek Mill is silent for two days, but then emerges on Thursday night, releasing " Wanna Know " to the masses. The consensus is that Drake has won. The song did not strike a chord, and Meek Mill continues to be mocked with memes and jokes on social media. Drake also posted an Instagram photo of himself laughing at his phone. We'll read into that.

So, that's where we stand. Where do we go from here? There are a few possible outcomes:

  • Drake could release another song, and effectively end the beef, and possibly Meek Mill's career.

  • Meek Mill could release a second song, as Drake did, and claim victory.

  • Drake and Meek Mill could call a truce, most likely arranged by mutual friend Nicki Minaj.

  • This could just go on for months -- track after track, tweet after tweet, sub messages and tour rants until we all explode.

  • We could settle this in the ring -- that's right -- a boxing match for the ages. Or we just bring back Celebrity Death Match?

  • We host an "8 Mile-style" rap battle -- Drake vs. Meek, 3 rounds, and yes, Mekhi Phifer is the emcee.

  • Someone finds out Meek Mill has the same ghostwriter as Drake -- I just got really excited thinking about that one.

  • Nicki Minaj breaks up with Meek, stops talking to Drake and releases a diss track about how petty men can be. (This one seems likely at some point)

  • Let's just hope this beef stays on the Internet and not in a night club. We don't need a repeat of the West Coast vs. East Coast beef, circa 1990s.

For those of you who may say, who cares about this, there are bigger things to worry about -- you are wrong. Don't be pretentious. Let us have our fun. We haven't had this much hip hop beef entertainment since Ja Rule and 50 Cent - we all know how that ended.
