Kid Rock announces $20-ticket tour for 'Best Night Ever'

Detroit rocker to play 3 shows in August at DTE Energy Music Theatre

DETROIT – Kid Rock has announced that tickets for his U.S. Summer tour will be $20 in all section -- and paperless when possible.

Kid Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker Band will perform under the stars in amphitheaters this summer, beginning June 28th at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia through September 15th at the Live Nation Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida.

The tour, promoted by Live Nation, includes three special shows at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Kid Rock's hometown on August 9, 10 and 11.

Kool & The Gang, ZZ Top, and Uncle Kracker are confirmed as support on select dates.

Tickets go on sale to the public in select markets beginning April 12th on LiveNation.com and in Detroit -- DTE Energy Theatre tickets go on sale April 13.

In addition to the low ticket price, Kid Rock is going beyond the extra mile for his fans. Kid Rock is reserving the first two rows for every show as free upgrades for lucky fans selected at random for upgrades.

Beer specials, value food packages, cheap parking, free samples of Jimmy John's sandwiches at select venues, free coffee at the end of the show,  and special $20 tour t shirts will be available as well.

As an additional method to combat scalping, Kid Rock will release 1,000 tickets from each show directly to fans as Platinum Tickets through LiveNation.com. As some of the best seats in the house, Platinum Tickets are market price tickets. This removes the money making opportunity from scalpers by pricing these select seats at market value.

Tickets will be sold directly to fans so not run the risk of having to purchase from unauthorized third parties. So, yes. Kid Rock is scalping his own tickets so other people can't.

Also a first for a Kid Rock tour, participating Walmart locations will also offer all-in $20 tickets – no parking costs, no fees.

Current members of Kid Rock's Rebel Soldiers fan club will have first access to presale tickets through kidrock.com/tour.

"Everyone knows the economy is still hurting people across the country, but I didn't want that to be a reason why everyone couldn't get out and enjoy themselves on a summer night," Kid Rock said. "So we're going to throw the biggest and best party ever, with prices across the board that are reasonable and transparent.  No hidden fees, no gimmicks.  We're not sparing any expense on this tour, we're going over the top as always, but that doesn't mean we're going to ask the fans to pay more.  If this works we're going to play to packed houses of fans who appreciate what we're doing. If it doesn't… might be a long summer.  But someone has to go out there and fight these high prices out there and change things up, and I'm lucky enough that I can afford to take a pay cut. $20. Best night ever."

Kid Rock is touring in support of his 10th album, Rebel Soul.
