The Motor City might become the next setting for Gotham City.
There are reports claiming Detroit recently was scouted by the "Man of Steel 2" production team. The highly-anticipated sequel will star Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman. The A-list stars soon could call The D home, at least for a few months.
"Well, it's big because it gives us an opportunity to put Detroit in the national spotlight once again," said Renee Monforton, of the Metro Detroit Convention and Visitors Bureau.

It seems when it comes to the big screen, Detroit has some super powers of its own. Crews just finished filming the new Transformers movie downtown. People are still coming to see the set, taking pictures and getting a piece of the action.
"When they come here they use transportation, they use lodging, they use our services, and they stay several months, that's the best part," said Monforton.
While the darkness of municipal bankruptcy looms, the city of Detroit is cashing in on the movie scene. The spotlight is shining bright on Detroit.
If the city is chosen for the movie, filming will start at the beginning of next year.
