DETROIT – Even though Daft Punk pulled a no-show on the Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert, with the help of some celebrity friends, got lucky anyway.
The electronic-music duo was supposed to play Colbert's Tuesday night show, but bailed due to a schedule conflict. "We booked Click and Clack over here about a month ago," Colbert told audiences. "Apparently, Daft Punk are going to make a surprise appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards. Don't tell anyone, because fun fact: No one told me until two hours ago."
Colbert decided to turn the no-show into a comedy masterpiece, performing a parody of the hit song "Get Lucky". The parody featured stars including Hugh Laurie, Jeff Bridges, Jimmy Fallon, Matt Damon, the casts of Breaking Bad and America's Got Talent, and even old friend Jon Stewart.
