(CNN) - So long, Ricky Gervais. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are taking over hosting duties for the Golden Globes.
NBC announced Monday that the former "Saturday Night Live" castmates will do the honors of hosting the 70th annual show in January.
A spokesman for the network says Fey and Poehler's "proven chemistry and comedic timing" were a deciding factor.
Fey and Poehler also starred together in "Mean Girls" and "Baby Mama."
The Golden Globes airs Jan. 13 from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
