See Local 4's Pets Of The Week

Give Local Animals A Home

Each Friday on Local 4's Morning Edition, The Adoption Center at Detroit Animal Control, introduces a new pet available for adoption.

Check here each week for our featured pet.

The center adopts on a first-come basis. There are also many puppies and adult dogs in need of homes.

If you are interested in adopting the pets, contact Detroit Animal Control at (313) 224-6323.

The center is also seeking volunteers. You must be least 18 years old to be a volunteer at the center. Contact Patrice Reed at (313) 224-6323 if you are interested.

What Is The Adoption Program?

The Adoption Program at the Detroit Animal Control Center rescues dogs and cats that were either abandoned by their owners or were given up by their owners. We observe our adoption animals' behavior during their stay at the center to assure their suitability as a pet. Sad thing is, because of the number of animals running loose in the city, our adoption program is never without a pet needing a owner's love and care. Please, keep coming back to this page. We may just have the pet you've been searching for.
