Juicing recipes to make at home

Here are some favorite recipes at Savorfull, created by Nutritionist and Registered Nurse, Stacy Goldberg, MPH, RN, BSN & her team. 

 

You Can't Beet it

Ingredients:

2 Beets

4-6 Kale leaves

2 Oranges

5 Carrots

Directions:

1)      Wash all ingredients

2)      Peel and quarter the oranges

3)      Peel and chop the carrots into small pieces

4)      Chop beets into1/2" cubes

5)      Add all ingredients into a blender, blend until smooth, adding a splash of filtered water to help it along if it gets stuck.

6)      Place a fine mesh strainer over a large mixing bowl and pour juice over. Press down with a rubber spatula to speed things along.

7)      Pour juice into a serving glass and enjoy immediately, or cover and chill.

 

You Can't Beet It is a detoxifying juice that blends both fruits and vegetables. Kale is the powerhouse of the leafy greens and is high in iron, vitamin A, C, K and antioxidants. The beetroot provides betacyanin, which is promoted for its ability to potentially reduce the risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Digest & Detox

Ingredients:

1 apple, any variety

4 carrots

1 handful of spinach

¼ inch of a ginger root

Directions:

1)      Wash apple, carrots and spinach

2)      Cut carrots and apple into small chunks

3)      Cut a ¼ inch think piece of the ginger root

4)      Remove the skin of the ginger root

5)      Put ginger, carrot and apple into blender and blend

6)      Gradually add spinach

7)      Place a fine mesh strainer over a large mixing bowl and pour juice over. Press down with a rubber spatula to speed things along.

8)      Pour juice into a serving glass and enjoy immediately, or cover and chill.

 

This crisp and refreshing juice is packed with antioxidants, phytochemicals as well as dietary fiber. Dietary fiber not only is heart healthy, but it also helps to promote regular bowel movements and prevent constipation.  The ginger root in this juice is very helpful in settling the stomach.

Lean, Green Machine

Ingredients:

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 ripe banana

2 handfuls of spinach

1 tablespoon ground flax seed meal

2-4 ice cubes, as desired

Dash of cinnamon

Directions:

1)      Add almond milk to blender

2)      Add in the ground flax meal

3)      Next add in the spinach followed by the banana on top

4)      Blend until smooth.

5)      Add in ice cubes and blend some more

6)      Pour juice into a serving glass and enjoy immediately, or cover and chill

A Sweet Valentine Juice

Ingredients

1/2 cup cherries, pitted (about 10)

1 cup watermelon

1/2 cup strawberries, green stem removed

1 tomato (heirloom or any variety)

1 small beet (beetroot), washed and peeled

1/2 cup fresh basil leaves

Directions

1)      Wash all produce well

2)      Remove pits from cherries

3)      Remove green stems from strawberries

4)      Cut ends off beets and peel (optional) for a milder flavor

5)      Add all ingredients into a blender, blend until smooth, adding a splash of filtered water to help it along if it gets stuck.

6)      Place a fine mesh strainer over a large mixing bowl and pour juice over. Press down with a rubber spatula to speed things along.

7)      Pour juice into a serving glass and enjoy immediately, or cover and chill.
