Ford Volunteer Corps
– 10th Anniversary
In celebration of the Ford Volunteer Corps’ 10th anniversary in 2015, Ford Global Week of Caring was expanded to Ford Global Caring Month in September. Ford volunteers are active throughout the year, but on four Ford Accelerated Action Days teams of employees in the U.S address urgent community needs identified by nonprofit agency partners. Ford Accelerated Action Days concentrate on children and families, the environment, community building and hunger relief. Ford Fund provides grants of up to $5,000 per non-profit to cover the tools and supplies needed for many of the projects. In southeast Michigan, tens of thousands of Ford employees have worked on more 7,500 projects for nonprofit partners, such as Focus Hope, Forgotten Harvest, Gleaners Community Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army and Starfish Family Service.
