Beaumont Has 24-Hour H1N1 Hot Line

ROYAL OAK, Mich. -- A local hospital is offering a new way to help the community get answers 24 hours a day, seven days a week about the H1N1 virus.

Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak is providing a hot line anybody can call with health concerns -- like flu symptoms and whether they should see a doctor.

Holly Bair, a nurse practitioner, is coordinating the system.

"We are answering questions from A to Z," Bair said.

The hospital opened up line Monday at 7 a.m., and Bair said phones have been ringing steadily ever since.

The number for the hot line is 888-375-H1N1 (4161).

The call, and advice, is free.
