Bed bugs found at Blue Care Network offices in Southfield

Blue Care spokeswoman says Southfield building to be treated for bed bugs this weekend

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Bed bugs have infested at least one floor at Blue Car Network's offices in Southfield.

The building will be treated this weekend by a company that specializes in this type of situation, said Blue Care spokeswoman Helen Stojic. It's the first time bed bugs have been found in the building, she said.

"The company has found the source and has a protocol in place to address the situation until it is resolved," Stojic said in a statement on Friday. "The problem was limited in scope and employees were able to continue normal operations."

She said the infestation was limited to one floor -- the 1st floor.

Blue Care Network leases the building which is at 20500 Civic Center Drive.

Workers didn't want to talk about the situation as they left on Friday.
