Family shares their story about fighting Diabetes

Reece and Olivia Ohmer talk to Local 4's Brandon Roux about Type 1 Diabetes

11-year-old Reece Ohmer and 8-year-old Olivia Ohmer are walking with the JDRF to find a cure for Diabetes.

The Ohmer from Pinckney is working to find a cure for Diabetes by walking for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

11-year-old Reece Ohmer and 8-year-old Olivia Ohmer both have Type 1 Diabetes, but it's not stopping them. The sisters shared their inspiring story with Local 4's Brandon Roux who also has Type 1 Diabetes.  They are all taking part in upcoming Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walks across Michigan.

The Ohmer family will be lacing up their shoes to join the fight and to find a cure on Sunday, September 23 at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter.  Their team is called Naturally Sweet Sisters. Click here to see a video about their story.
