New study reveals sleeping too much does not add pounds

Report: Sleeping more than 9 hours can block weight gain

DETROIT – Sleeping too much does not make you fat!

In fact, researchers say sleeping more than nine hours a night can block genetic factors linked to weight gain.

In a study of over one-thousand pairs of twins, they found those who slept less than seven hours a night had a higher average body mass index than those who slept over nine hours.

Obesity related genes were less of a factor in those who got more sleep.
