Ruth to the Rescue Recall: Diabetic test strips

DETROIT – Nova Diabetes Care is recalling several lots of Nova Max glucose test strips.  The voluntary recall was announced in a company press release posted on the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)Web site.

Nova Max Plus glucose meter kits that include test strips from the recalled lots are also included in the recall.

The company says it has determined that some of the recalled blood glucose test strips may report a false, abnormally high blood glucose result, which could result in an insulin dosing error that could lead to a serious health risk requiring immediate medical attention.
