The research revealed:

  • 59 percent of women surveyed said they feel sexier in the summer.
  • 54 percent insisted they look their best in June, July and August.
  • 83 percent said they are happier then than at any other time of year.
  • 88 percent of women said they smile more when it's sunny
  • 47 percent said they can feel their spirits pick up 'as soon as there's a glimpse of sunshine'.

Psychologist Professor Cary Cooper, of Lancaster University, said, "This effect is partly the opposite of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), which tends to affect more women than men in the winter."
