Prospective lovers can smell each other out at pheromone party
You may have heard of love at first sight, but what about love at first scent?
In Phoenix, singles mingled at a “pheromone party” last week and were each given a T-shirt to smell from a prospective date.
Producing love in a Ziploc bag
Each participant was told to sleep in the same T-shirt. No body spray, perfumes, after shaves or smoking in the shirts was allowed.
The shirts were then put into a Ziploc bag and put in a freezer each morning.
Releasing the pheromones
At the party, each bag was coded with a number on a post-it note. The participants were each given a chance to open and smell the T-shirts in the bags and keep a tab on which one made them weak in the knees.
Why sniff out love?
Experts say naturally-occurring pheromones are unique – almost like a fingerprint and are important in finding a mate.
