Children's Museum of Indianapolis has exhibit of top iconic toys; G.I. Joe tops list

G.I. Joe, Transformers and LEGO building blocks have been selected as the top iconic toys over the last 100 years.

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis announced the winners after more than 24,000 votes by the public over eight weeks this summer.

After the initial five weeks of voting, a list of 100 toys were trimmed to 20. A second vote decided the top three.

Barbie finished fourth and the View-Master was fifth.

Other favorites included bicycles, Cabbage Patch Kids, Crayons, Play-Doh, the Monopoly game and Raggedy Ann.

The top 20 toys are on display at the museum as part of "100 Toys that Define our Childhood."
