Domino's is adding a gluten-free pizza to its menu. The special crust will allow people with certain health issues to enjoy pizza delivery for the first time.
“Many of our customers have asked for a gluten free crust, and Domino’s is excited to offer a product to customers with mild gluten sensitivity," said J. Patrick Doyle, Domino's Pizza President and CEO.
There is one catch. The gluten-free pizzas will be baked in ovens with pizzas that are not gluten free. That can still cause problems for some people who are extra sensitive to the gluten, like those with celiac-disease. The pizza will only be offered as a small 10-inch pie.
The chain is recommending the gluten-free crust should cost $3 more than the regular crust version, but prices may vary. The new gluten-free crust is available now.
