Taco Bell is looking to roll out something new.
According to Taco Bell spokesman Rob Poetsch, the chain is currently testing out a cool-ranch Doritos taco in Toledo. The fast food chain plans to roll out it nationally very soon.
So far, its original Doritos Locos taco is its most successful launch product ever.
Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Tacos sold so well the product has become the best selling fast food item and sold 100 million within 10 weeks. The product debuted March 8 and it was promoted to be a sort of revamped taco with a shell made from Doritos cheese nacho. It costs $1.29 and it contains seasoned beef, tomatoes and lettuce, all in a Doritos shell.
Crushing the Crunchwrap
Poetsch said that the company’s previous most successful product Crunchwrap "has been dethroned" by the new addition to the menu, the Doritos Locos Tacos. The Crunchwrap debuted in Taco Bell’s menus back in 2005 and its tostada wrap stuffed with nacho cheese sauce and sour cream over seasoned beef became a success soon after its launch.
