When it comes to their health, folks typically have a sense of renewal at the beginning of the year. The New Year signifies a fresh start. Another chance, if you will. The only problem is that numerous people give up their resolutions because pressure is really high and many times, the resolutions are often very blanketed and vague. There is no real ‘plan’ as to how to get to that success point.
By starting a health plan now in the form of this check list that I’ve put together, when the New Year rolls around in six months (can you believe it?!), you’ll be more than ready to cruise through the year because you’ve already established a great foundation. So here goes!
Know what you’re working with
If you haven’t been to your doctor recently, it’s time to get a check-up. It’s really important to know those vital numbers and ensure that everything is humming along nicely and ready for you to take it to the next level.
Start your day off right
Give yourself a good start by eating a nutritious breakfast. Something simple like steel cut oats with blueberries is delicious and nutritious. And it’s very easy to prepare. Breakfast doesn’t need to be complicated in order to be healthy.
Put in the good stuff
By adding more fruits and vegetables throughout your day, you’ll find that you are more inclined to continue eating healthier foods, naturally crowding out the not so good stuff. Omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidant rich foods are also pertinent to completing your healthy food intake.
If you haven’t been, now is a great time to get outside and burn some calories. It’s good for your heart, bones, muscles, and brain too. It’s also a great mood booster.
Maybe it’s your job, maybe it’s your marriage, or perhaps it’s money. It can sadly even be all three. The whole point is to get conscious of what the root of the stress in your life is, then work to make positive change to lessen that stress. Working on the first four tasks on this list will help you handle stress!
Don’t Forget Your Multis
Help your body to operate at its highest level by plugging in some vitamins daily. There are many varieties available depending on your age, sex, and unique situation like allergies and other issues. Make sure to talk to your doctor during your check up about which vitamins and supplements are best for you.
Get physical with friends. Instead of using your social circles just for eating and drinking, make your social circle a healthy and physically active one. Encourage each other and form some incredibly healthy and supportive friendships. We need this kind of love.
A good seven to eights hours of shuteye a nigh is oh-so-important to our bodies and minds staying strong and healthy. Plus when you get good sleep, all of the physiological repairing that is happening during this rest time is your foundation for dealing with all the curve balls that life throws at you.
