Getting sugar out of your diet will help cravings

DETROIT – The average human has about 10,000 taste buds. There are taste buds on the lips, on and under the tongue, some are on the inside of the cheeks, and some are on the roof of the mouth. 

When it comes to sweetness, everyone has a preference and perception of intensity. The more sugar in the diet, the more will be craved.  Someone who becomes use to a lot of sugar in their food, will want more sugar in their drinks. This creates a cycle of foods and drinks needing a lot of sugar to be satisfying.

As the awareness increases of the high amounts, and many items that contain sugar (often noted by different names), better choices can be made. Slowly decreasing the sugar in the diet, leads to an increased sensitivity to high levels, and decreased craving.
