ANN ARBOR, Mich. -

The University of Michigan is offering an online class about the U.S. health care system.

The class, which is six weeks long, is being taught by Dr. Matthew Davis -- a primary care physician and health policy educator.

According to the course's description, students will learn about the structure, accomplishments and shortcomings of the health system -- and how the health care reform movement got under way.

No prerequisites are required, but there are recommended readings on health care policy that will be posted in advance of the class.

The course is taught in a hour with video segments comprised of lecture, thought exercises and archived footage.
