There are a lot of uninsured Americans looking to enroll for health care as mandated by the Affordable Care Act. The deadline for coverage is March 31st and those that miss the deadline are looking at a penalty of 1% of your income or $95 per adult depending on which is higher. So how do you get covered?
• Explore your options. Humana’s Easy Price tool helps you estimate the cost and compare your options with insurance plans in your area.
• Determing Eligibility for a Subsidy. If you are concerned about cost, you may be eligible for a government subsidy or a lower cost policy. Depending on your income, some subsidies may cover your cost entirely.
• Apply before March 31. You can go to Healthcare.gov to apply online or you can apply via phone.
