DETROIT -

Join the fight against cancer by participating in the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute’s 32nd Annual Dinner, Saturday, April 26, at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Annual Dinner Chairs are Pernilla Ammann, chief operating officer of Mother New York; and Dan Ammann, president of General Motors Company. Cadillac is the host sponsor, and WDIV Local 4 Anchor/Reporter Hank Winchester will serve as emcee.

The event is the Karmanos Cancer Institute’s longest standing fundraiser. Over the years, it has raised critical funds for patient care and research. This year’s event will support the renovations of the Institute’s infusion center, providing a more comfortable and soothing setting for patients to receive their chemotherapy treatments.

The black tie event will include the ambiance of the 1920’s, a strolling cocktail reception with entertainment provided by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, seated dinner, brief program and dancing. There will also be a raffle and a live auction with VIP experience packages presented by General Motors.

In conjunction with the Annual Dinner, Chevrolet has donated the first retail production 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to be auctioned to benefit the Karmanos Cancer Institute. The Barrett-Jackson auction house will offer the supercar during its Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach, Fla., on April 12.  One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the Karmanos Cancer Institute. Absentee bid forms are available. For more information visit www.barrett-jackson.com.
