Does the cold, gray weather have you feeling down? Try putting a little spring in your step.

New research from Witten Herdecke University in Germany suggests simply changing your gait and walking like a happy person would walk can actually make you feel happier.

Researchers found happier people tend to hold their heads higher, swing their arms more, and walk a little bouncier and faster than those who are less happy.

Slouching while you stride can have the opposite effect, making a person feel more negative.

The study is published online in the Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry.
