Hen delivers 'eggless' chick, officials in Sri Lanka say
Veterinarian says egg incubated inside hen
Veterinary officials in Kotte, Sri Lanka, said they have proof that occasionally the chicken does come before the egg, after a hen gave birth to an eggless chick.
P.R. Yapa, a government veterinary officer in the area, said the chick's egg was incubated inside the hen for 21 days -- instead of being laid in a nest -- and then hatched inside the mother, the BBC reported.
Yapa said the chick is healthy, however the mother hen died of internal wounds.
