Study: Looking at cute baby animals boosts your productivity

Looking at photos of cute animals at work might actually help boost your productivity at work, according to a Japanese study.

The research was done at Hiroshima University with 48 college students. They were divided into two groups and asked to play a game similar to "Operation."

After one round, half of the students were shown pictures of baby animals and the other shown pictures of adult animals.

The students who were shown the baby animals were found to be better at picking up the small pieces and at completing other tasks.

"This study shows that viewing cute things improves subsequent performance in tasks that require behavioral carefulness, possibly by narrowing the breadth of attentional focus," the researchers wrote.
