The amazing gesture was posted to the Pray for Chad Carr Facebook page, reading: "Wow! Special thanks to the michigan men's basketball coaches and staff and the Ohio state men's basketball team's coaches and staff. They came together to do this for chad. Amazing!!!! Love and thanks to you all!! Bigger than the rivalry!!"

The sad news was announced when Tammi Carr posted an update Wednesday about her 5-year-old son Chad, the grandson of former University of Michigan head football coach Lloyd Carr, to the Prayers for Chad Facebook page.

She said she and her husband made the decision this week.

"His breathing and swallowing have been getting worse not better, he can no longer walk and his speech is sporadic. We kept waiting to see improvement, kept waiting to see things turning around, but the reality is that they aren't," she wrote.

Chad was diagnosed with the diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) tumor just days before his birthday in September 2014.
