There's a new product called the Telezapper. It promises to stop telemarketing calls.
You just hook it up to your phone, and it's supposed to block all unidentified calls.
Local 4's Ruth To The Rescue had Erika Kulhmann, who said she is constantly bothered with phone calls from telemarketers, put it to the test.
"There are three cords. One is for the phone. One is for the zapper and one is for the power supply. That's it and you're all hooked up," Kulhmann said.
Kulhmann tested the Telezapper for 10 days. Was she impressed?
"It worked pretty well. I had one call come through that was a computerized telemarketer. Otherwise I didn't get anything," she said.
The telezapper dramatically cut the number of unidentified calls. The cost? $50. Well worth the investment for Kulhmann who gives the Telezapper a big thumbs up.
"If someone is prone to getting a lot of telemarketing phone calls then for sure I would suggest it to them," Kulhmann said.
