Detroit -- Number one: go to job fairs. They may seem too crowded to make a connection with a possible employer but, experts say, it could be your first step back into the working world. It's also your chance to talk to hundreds of companies all gathered under one roof. Experts say the best places to look for job fairs are colleges and universities.
Number two: look for openings at a company you wouldn't normally check out. We found a job opening at a California hospital for a theatre director.
Number three: take up Twittering. The hot new social site can be your inside track to finding a job. Choose a company, sign up to follow them on Twitter and be the first to hear about employment opportunities with them.
Number four: reach out to those you may have helped climb the corporate ladder. Remember sometimes it's not about what you know; it's about who you know. Reconnecting with former interns or co-workers could help put you back into the workforce.
