Internet Makes Finding Discontinued Cosmetics Easier

Several Sites Offer Cosmetics You Can't Find In Stores Anymore

DETROIT -- When a cosmetic company discontinues a consumer's favorite product for a newer version or gets rid of it altogether, it can be frustrating.

Some cosmetic companies, including Estee Lauder, help consumers stay stocked up on their discounted favorites. Estee Lauder launched its Web site "Gone But Not Forgotten.” The Web site stocks products discontinued over the past 24 months.

Lancome also offers consumers the chance to purchase discontinued items on its Web site.

There are also several independent sites that sell a variety of discontinued cosmetic brands.
