DETROIT -- Funeral services for former Detroit City Clerk Jackie Currie were held Monday.Bishop Edgar Vann officiated Monday's funeral services at Second Ebenezer Church.Currie died Dec. 27 of natural causes after a long illness. She was 78.Watch: 
Jackie Currie DiesShe had served as clerk from 1994 until losing in a 2005 re-election bid. She was voted out amid allegations that ballots were cast in the names of dead people and that her employees acted coercively when they assisted incapacitated people to vote by absentee ballot.Currie also served as a Wayne County commissioner."Detroit lost a dedicated public servant with the passing of Jackie Currie," Detroit Mayor Dave Bing said in a statement. "My prayers are with her family and loved ones."
