Can Fluffy or Fido help singles make a love connection? A new Web site makes meeting other pet owners easier than a walk in the park, Local 4's Ruth Spencer reported.
Dogs often help their owners meet new people, which is the idea behind DateMyPet.com, a Web site created by software consultant Robert Yau.
"I'm a total geek, and a great animal lover," said Yau.
Yau created the site to help pet owners meet other pet owners.
"I've noticed people will just approach me because of the dog," said Yau.
Yau's dog, Hershey, is one of thousands of pets -- of all variations -- already registered on the site.
In less than one month, DateMyPet has attracted more than 250,000 visitors.
"People see (pets) as a common bond between two people and when they realize this is another animal lover, there's a common bond there. If nothing turns out, at least I got to meet their pets," said Yau.
