What's The Best Way To Buy Flowers?
Ruth Compares Four Different Venues
POSTED: Tuesday, February 7, 2006
What's the secret to keeping your sweetheart happy on Valentine's Day?
Purchasing flowers at a store rather than online or over the phone can make your love blossom, according to Ruth to the Rescue.
"It's not just call on it and let somebody else do the work," said Tara Arcusa, a woman who loves to get flowers. "It's, they went in, they did the work, they put the extra effort in it, and it shows that they care."
After comparing four different venues, Ruth discovered the best way to purchase roses is in person because you have the opportunity to see what your roses will look like.
"By taking your time and knowing what you're looking for, you can come out with the right thing and everybody's happy," said John Mueller while buying flowers for his wife.
Flowers purchased in person at a Thrifty Florist were high quality, and lasted longer than flowers purchased online or over the phone, according to the station's reports.
To make sure the roses you are purchasing will last, there are a few tips to follow:
Lightly touch the top of the petals to make sure they feel crisp like fresh lettuce.
Make sure the eyes of the flowers are slightly open.
Buds that are tightly closed may never bloom.
Look for colors other than red, because you may have more to choose from.
