DETROIT -

At the end of a busy week, the last thing many of us want to do is head to the grocery store. Sadly, if your cupboards are bare, you need to find a way to get food into the house. We already know there are grocery delivery options, such as Peapod.  Now, that company is doing even further to make life easier.

"We all have to eat. So it's kind of like, you don't have a choice and also people feel like they spend a lot of money and time doing it, so they're always looking for a different way to skin the cat. You know, a different way to get it done quickly, and to feel like they're doing a good job at it," said Peg Merzbacher, Peapod's Director of Marketing

Peapod has put up billboards in major cities. Consumers can download an app by scanning the QR code, then they can scan bar codes on the billboard and put the groceries in their cart for home delivery.

Peapod  got the idea for their virtual aisles from technology overseas. And, the grocery list of apps seems to be a growing market offering consumers help with everything from coupons to shopping lists.
